Frequently asked questions

Find answers about the calendar, artist and venue profiles, and ways to help the Cozumel music community.

Finding live music

What is CozumelMusic.com?

CozumelMusic.com is a community guide to live music on the island. Find upcoming shows, discover artists and venues, and help keep the local music scene connected.

Is the site free?

Yes. Browsing the calendar, creating an account, and artist and venue profiles are free. If you would like to help keep the site going, visit Support Us.

Do I need an account to see shows?

No. Anyone can browse Shows, Artists and Venues. You need a verified account to suggest shows, request profile access, or share photos, video links and reviews.

What time zone are the shows listed in?

All show dates and times are for Cozumel. If you are visiting or adding a show from somewhere else, use the local time in Cozumel.

How do I find a show or get directions?

Open Shows and search by artist, venue or event name. You can also browse upcoming shows on an artist or venue profile. Use Map & directions where available.

What if a listing is wrong or a show is canceled?

Use Report an error beside the show and tell us what needs correcting. Include the correct date, time or venue if you know it. You may leave your email so we can follow up. Schedules can change, so check with the artist or venue if you need confirmation before heading out.

Accounts and profiles

How do I create an account?

Open Create an account, enter your email and a password of at least 10 characters, and request your verification code. Enter the eight-digit code sent to your email to finish creating your account. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder.

Can I connect my old calendar login?

Yes. During registration, choose the option for an existing Cozumel Music calendar login and enter those credentials. Your new website password can be different. Linking the accounts does not automatically give you permission to edit artist or venue profiles.

How do I claim my artist or venue profile?

Sign in, find your profile in Artists or Venues, and choose Claim this profile. Select your role and explain your connection or authorization. Submit the request for review. You can check its status in My dashboard. After approval, the profile appears under My profiles with an editing link.

What if my artist or venue is not listed?

First search the directory to avoid duplicates. Then open My dashboard, expand Add or claim an artist or venue, and choose Add an artist / band or Add a venue. Submit the name and explain your affiliation. Once approved, you can fill in the new profile.

Can a friend or manager help maintain a profile?

Yes. A band member, owner, manager, booking contact or authorized helper can request access. Explain whom you represent and who has authorized you to help. Each person should use their own account. Access is reviewed before approval.

What if the profile is already claimed?

Contact the calendar manager or support@cozumelmusic.com to request additional access. A profile can have more than one approved representative. Please do not create a duplicate profile.

What can I add to my profile?

Artists can add a biography, category, genre, sound, main photo, gallery, website, Facebook, and public video and music links. Venues can add a description, photos, address, map link, public phone, hours, music schedule, visitor information and social links. Upcoming shows come from the calendar, so add gigs through Add an Event rather than only mentioning them in your biography.

Adding and managing shows

How do I add a show?

Sign in and choose Add an Event. Select the artist and venue from the suggestions when possible. Enter the category, date and Cozumel time, and add any useful details or a flier. Check the information and submit. The receipt will tell you whether the show has been published or is waiting for review.

Will my show appear immediately?

Shows connected to a published artist or venue profile you are approved to manage can publish immediately. Other show suggestions go to the calendar manager for approval. A pending suggestion is not on the public calendar yet.

Can I add a regular weekly gig?

Yes. Use the Repeat options to create a repeating schedule, such as every Friday. Choose the first date and an optional final date. You can also create daily, monthly and other supported schedules. For a show continuing after midnight, set the end date to the following day.

Can I attach a show flier?

Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 12 MB when adding a show, or use Add or replace a flier on a show you can manage. For a dated poster, choose One show date; for an undated regular schedule, choose Whole repeating series. Fill in the show’s date and time fields too.

How do I change or cancel a show?

Open Manage my shows from your dashboard and select the show or series. You can edit a single show or one occurrence, cancel one date, or end a repeating series. Use End the series to preserve past shows; deleting the entire series also removes earlier occurrences. If you cannot manage the listing, use Report an error or contact the calendar manager.

Why can’t I manage a show on my profile?

A show can appear on your profile even if someone else entered it. Manage my shows covers your own published website submissions while you retain approved access to the related artist or venue. Older calendar entries and shows submitted by other people may need a calendar manager’s help.

Helping the community

Can I contribute without claiming a profile?

Yes. You only need a verified account. Find an artist or venue, open its profile and choose Contribute to this profile. You can submit photos, a public video link or a show review. You can also suggest a missing show through Add an Event.

What photos, videos and reviews can I share?

Share relevant photos you have permission to publish, public video links, and reviews of shows you attended. Photo submissions allow up to five JPG, PNG or WebP images, up to 12 MB each. For a review, choose the past show or enter its details if it is missing, add a title and public name, and write about the performance and your experience. Your review can include photos.

Who reviews contributions, and where can I check their status?

Photos and videos are reviewed by a profile representative or administrator. Show reviews go to the calendar manager. Open My contributions from your dashboard to see status and feedback. If changes are requested for a review, revise and resubmit it.

Will my email address be shown publicly?

Your account email is not shown with your community review; the public name you enter is displayed instead. Information you add to a public biography, public contact field or contribution may be visible. Read our Privacy Policy for more information.
